Nicknamed ‘The Midget with the Widget' after he appeared in the advertising campaign for 'John Smith's Bitter', Jack Dee is known for his trademark deadpan humour, sarcasm and wit. He starred and co-wrote the successful British situational comedy series, ‘Lead Balloon'. He hosted the 'Jack Dee: Live at the Apollo', 'The Jack Dee Show', 'Jack Dee's Saturday Night' and 'Jack Dee's Happy Hour'. He was also the winner of the British reality show, ‘Celebrity Big Brother'. He initially wanted to go to college to study drama but dropped the idea after his mother insisted that he focus more on a vocation. He eventually took up a job in the catering industry as a waiter and it was during this phase that he became heavily addicted to alcohol and also met his future wife! After performing stand-up acts in various venues, Jack Dee finally got a big break in the world of comedy with his own show, 'The Jack Dee Show', which was aired on Channel 4. The show not only became a huge hit but cemented his position as a comedian and actor. He is the recipient of two British Comedy Awards. He is also the co-founder of the production house, ‘Open Mike Productions'.
