Lily Allen is an English singer and songwriter, known not only for her beautiful rendition, but also for the beautiful lyrics that she has been writing since her late teens. Born into an artistic family, she first appeared in front of the camera at the age of three, making a brief appearance in one episode of The Comic Strip Presents. However, her childhood was far from happy. Her father left the family when she was four years old, turning her into an “argumentative problem child”. At eleven, her singing acumen was discovered by Rachel Zeffira and she developed into an accomplished musician under her tutelage. At fifteen, she left school to concentrate on singing and songwriting and came to public notice at twenty when she posted some of her recordings on MySpace. Her first album, Alright, Still, released in the following year, sold over 2.6 million copies worldwide and earned her a nomination at the Grammy Awards. Since then, she has not looked back.
