(Armenian Chess Player and Coach) Arshak Petrosian is an Armenian chess player and coach. He achieved popularity in 1974, when he won the Armenian Chess Championship. He repeated the feat in 1976 and went on to achieve more popularity during the 1980s, scoring notable wins against grandmasters like Rafael Vaganian, Alexey Shirov, and Alexander Morozevich. In 2009, Arshak Petrosian won the prestigious Mikhail Botvinnik Medal.
