Kenny Omega is the ring name of Canadian-born professional wrestler Tyson Smith. He currently performs with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and is a former AEW World Champion and AEW World Tag Team Champion. He was also a part of the inaugural AEW World Trios Champions. He is counted among the best professional wrestlers in the world and was named #1 in Pro Wrestling Illustrated's list of top 500 male wrestlers in 2018 and 2021. He developed a fascination for professional wrestling as a young boy. He watched tapes of WWE events and dreamt of becoming a wrestler himself. He began training with Top Rope Championship Wrestling (TRCW) as a teenager and soon made his professional debut with the Winnipeg-based promotion Premier Championship Wrestling (PCW). He had a great beginning and accumulated titles even before he hit his twenties. He continued enjoying great success in the ensuing years and wrestled with DDT Pro-Wrestling, Jersey All-Pro Wrestling, and Pro-Wrestling Guerrilla. He is a big fan of video games and the impact of this medium can be seen in his wrestling maneuvers, gimmick concepts, and entrance music. He abstains from alcohol, tobacco, and other recreational drugs.
