Michael Ontkean is a former Canadian actor who is popularly known for his role of ‘Officer Willie Gillis’ in the television show ‘The Rookies’. Starting as a promising hockey player in his college years, Ontkean moved to The United States and decided to pursue a career in acting. Since his debut in the television show ‘Hudson's Bay’, Ontkean has appeared in over fifty films and television shows combined. After getting his break on the silver screen in the 1970s, Ontkean appeared in a number of films during the 1980s. Some of his most important works on the silver screen came in that decade, including his career-best performance in the film ‘Bye Bye Blues’. He won a nomination at the Genie Awards for his performance in the film. He appeared in the horror television show ‘Twin Peaks’ in the early 1990s, as one of the lead cast.
