Kerri Strug is an American retired gymnast who was a member of the women's gymnastics team ‘Magnificent Seven’ that represented USA at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 and won the gold medal. She is best known for executing the vault despite an ankle injury and for being carried to the platform by her then-coach, Béla Károlyi. She was the winner of the bronze medal at the 1992 Olympics as well. Besides gymnastics, Strug has also worked at the White House Office of Presidential Student Correspondence as a staff assist. She was a presidential appointee at Justice Department's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. The American gymnast, who served as a correspondent for Yahoo! in the 2004 Summer Olympics, has also worked as a school teacher. Strug has been a marathon runner as well, having participated in marathons in New York, Boston, Houston and Chicago. The multi-faceted personality has appeared in a handful of TV commercials too!
