(French Painter Noted for His Works ‘The Death of Priam’ that Won the ‘Prix de Rome’) French figure painter, educator and theorist Jules Joseph Lefebvre achieved important milestones in his career including winning the Prix de Rome for his The Death of Priam painting; becoming recipient of Légion d'honneur; and member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts. He also served as professor at the Académie Julian. Two of his famous students were Félix Vallotton and Fernand Khnopff.
