Ioannis Sfairopoulos was 12 when he began his youth basketball career with Apollon Kalamarias. However, he retired at 21, starting his coaching career soon after. Throughout his illustrious career, he has trained Greek clubs such as Olympiacos and has led the Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv to 3 Israeli League titles.
