She decided to pursue acting and was seen in several films and TV series as a teen actor. She first appeared in the TV show ‘Dixon of Dock Green’ and was later seen in popular series, such as ‘Alexander Graham Bell’ and ‘Secret Agent’, in guest and supporting roles. She was also involved in theatre, essaying notable roles in many plays. Her big breakthrough came in 1967 when she was cast as the leading lady in ‘To Sir, with Love’, a hit drama film starring Sidney Poitier. The movie’s success established Geeson as a bankable actress and she started receiving many more offers.
