Chloë Stevens Sevigny is an American model and actress who first came into the limelight after novelist Jay McInerney published a seven-page article on her for ‘The New Yorker’ and referred to her as one of the "coolest girls in the world". She was working as a seamstress at that time! The popularity she earned after the article was published motivated her to enter the entertainment industry. She made her motion picture debut in the 1995 controversial film ‘Kids,’ appearing in a lead role and earning an Independent Spirit Award nomination for the performance. She also embarked on a successful modelling career in the 1990s. As an actress, she made a name for herself for her roles in contemporary independent cinema. Her performances in well-received and experimental movies including 'Trees Lounge', 'The Last Days of Disco' and 'Palmetto' established her as a lead artist in the independent film community. She then went on to become a common household name when she starred as polygamist Nicolette Grant in HBO’s ‘Big Love’. A bold and rebellious lady, she has been through her share of alcohol and drug abuse issues as a youngster. Currently, she often works in films that strive to highlight the impact of these kinds of addictions on teenagers.
