Katelyn Ohashi

Description: (American Former Artistic Gymnast)

Katelyn Ohashi is an American artistic gymnast, former 'Junior Olympic' athlete, and blogger. Trained as an “elite” at the ‘World Olympic Gymnastics Academy’ (WOGA) in Plano, Texas, and coached by Valeri Liukin, Katelyn is a six-time 'All-American' and a four-time member of the 'USA Gymnastics' junior national team. She is one of the few gymnasts to have defeated one of America's top gymnasts, Simone Biles, in a major competition. Katelyn went on to dominate the 2011 US nationals. She registered a defeat over 2012 “Olympian” Kyla Ross in the all-around category and won five golds at the 2012 'Pacific Rim Championships.' However, everything changed in 2016, when Katelyn met with an unfortunate injury while attempting the most difficult dismount in the sport. Her shattered confidence was brought back by her then-coaches, Laurent and Cecile Landi, and Katelyn made a perfect comeback. The ‘University of California, Los Angeles’ (UCLA) senior impressed the judges and became viral over the internet with her outstanding floor routine, which is considered the toughest gymnast routine ever. Katelyn is extremely vocal about the hazards of body-shaming and she actively shares her views about it on her blog.
