(14th President of Chile (1906 - 1910)) The son of Chilean president Manuel Montt Torres, Pedro Montt grew up to follow in his father’s footsteps and be a National Party leader and later became Chile’s president. His strict military reforms resulted in the Santa María School massacre. He also contributed to the growth of nitrate and copper production.
