Aaron Gordon is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is the son of Ed Gordon, former San Diego State basketball star. He came to limelight when he led the USA team to the FIBA Americas Under-16 Championship gold medal, in 2011. He also had a team-highs of 17.0 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game. He again led the US to another gold medal at the FIBA Under-19 World Cup in 2013, in Prague. His career with the NBA began in 2014, after being picked in the NBA draft by the Orlando Magic as the fourth overall pick. He had taken part in the Slam Dunk Contest in 2016, which he had lost to Zach LaVine. He took part again in 2020, though he again lost, this time to Derrick Jones Jr.
