Christopher Jon Weinke is an American football coach and former football and baseball player. He played professionally in the National Football League (NFL), and was associated with the Carolina Panthers for the major part of his career. He also played with San Francisco 49ers for one season. Currently, he is an offensive analyst at the University of Alabama coaching staff. He had served as the quarterbacks coach for the Los Angeles Rams of the NFL before joining the University of Alabama. A multi-faceted sporting personality, he played for six years in the Toronto Blue Jays minor league baseball team before he attended Florida University in 1997 on a scholarship, and joined the Florida State Seminoles football team as a quarterback, despite being a Miami Hurricanes fan. He led the team to the 1999 National Championship. The best player of his team, he won the Florida State’s Heisman Trophy, and was honored with the Davey O’Brien Award and Johnny Unitas Award. He served the Carolina Panthers as backup quarterback until he was released in 2006. He finally quit NFL in 2007.
