Chad Meredith Hurley is an American media tycoon and entrepreneur who co-founded the popular video-sharing website ‘YouTube’ and served as its CEO. He was also the CEO and one of the co-founders of the video-sharing service ‘MixBit.’ He joined ‘eBay's ‘PayPal’ division after college and focused mainly on its user interface. He was involved in designing the original logo of ‘PayPal’ and later collaborated with fellow colleagues of the company, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim, to create the video-sharing website ‘YouTube’ in February 2005. Hurley became the first CEO of ‘YouTube’ and mainly looked after the tagging and the video-sharing aspects of the website. He was ranked 28th on ‘Business 2.0’s list of "50 People Who Matter Now" in June 2006. A few months later, ‘Google’ shelled out US$1.65 billion to acquire ‘YouTube.’ The site currently operates as a subsidiary of ‘Google.’ Hurley remained the CEO of ‘YouTube’ till October 2010 and later collaborated with Steve Chen to launch the video-sharing service ‘MixBit’ in August 2013. ‘MixBit’ is presently known as ‘Zeen’ and was acquired by ‘BlueJeans’ in August 2018. He is also one of the co-owners of ‘Major League Soccer’s (MLS) ‘Los Angeles Football Club’ and the ‘National Basketball Association’s (NBA) ‘Golden State Warriors.’
