Robert Duncan McNeill is an American director, producer, and occasional actor. As a director, he has contributed to the TV dramas 'Las Vegas', 'Dawson's Creek', 'Chuck' and 'Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce'. As an actor, he is best known for playing Lieutenant Tom Paris on ‘Star Trek: Voyager’. Born in North Carolina, McNeill grew up in Washington, D.C. and later settled along with his family in Atlanta. He started his career acting in local productions, with his first role being in a studio production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’. McNeill later studied at New York City’s Juilliard School before pursuing a professional acting career. He enjoyed early success as an actor, winning the role of Charlie Brent on the soap opera ‘All My Children’. He eventually ventured into production and direction as well. His first major success as a director came with the action-comedy drama series 'Chuck,' in which he directed 73 episodes. Behind the screen, the actor is a father of three. He was previously married to Carol Seder.
