Amy Van Nostrand is an American actress best known for appearing in the Broadway titled ‘The Hothouse’ and Off-Broadway titled ‘Dance with Me.’ Amy was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island and was always interested in the prospect of becoming an actress. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in arts from the Brown University and following her graduation she began her acting career in theatres and made her screen debut in 1981. In her debut role, she played a supporting role as Gwen in the television film titled ‘The House of Mirth.’ She followed it with small roles in series’ such as ‘Cagney & Lacey’ and ‘L.A. Law.’ She made her film debut in 1987, playing a small role in the fantasy comedy film titled ‘Made in Heaven’ and followed it with more films such as ‘Ruby Cairo’ and ‘Outside Providence’ in the 1990s. Despite receiving acclaim for her role, she never quite had a very successful film or television career. She however, stayed attached with the theatres and during the course of her career she appeared in plays such as ‘Love Letters,’ ‘The Colorado Catechism’ and ‘Death of a Salesman.’
