Michael Mackintosh Foot, better known as Michael Foot, was a British socialist and political leader who served the ‘Labour Party’ from November 1980 to October 1983. The son of a ‘Liberal’ M.P., Foot initially ventured into journalism. After working for renowned newspapers such as ‘The Tribune’ and ‘Evening Standard,’ Foot contested in the elections. He later served as the secretary of state for employment and a ‘Labour Party’ leader but lost miserably in the 1983 elections. He remained married to feminist documentary maker Jill Craigie till her death and breathed his last at the age of 96.
