Thomas Patrick “Tom” Cavanagh is a Canadian actor, renowned for his diverse roles in American TV shows such as ‘Ed’ (2000–2004), for which he received a ‘TV Guide Award’ and a ‘Golden Globe’ nomination. A few of his other notable shows were ‘Love Monkey,’ (2006) ‘Trust Me’ (2009), ‘Providence,’ and ‘Scrubs.’ He is best known for his role as ‘Dr. Harrison Wells’ in ‘The Flash’ (2014). In addition, he just completed his short film ‘Tom and Grant,’ which is to be released in 2018. Tom starred in the ‘Broadway’ adaptation of ‘Shenandoah’ in 1989. During the 1990s, he appeared in the Canadian TV soap ‘Jake and the Kid,’ before becoming a professional actor. Some of his notable stage productions include ‘Grease,’ ‘Cabaret,’ ‘A Chorus Line,’ ‘Brighton Beach Memoirs,’ and ‘Urinetown.’ He has a number of commercials to his credit, too, such as ads for ‘Labatt Blue Light’ beer and the Canadian bank ‘CIBC.’ He married Maureen Grise, a photo editor for ‘Sports Illustrated,’ in 2004, and has four children with her. In his free time, he promotes the ‘United Nations Foundation’ campaign ‘Nothing But Nets,’ aimed at spreading awareness to end malaria.
