Paul Pierce is one of the famous American basketball players in history. Strong and athletic with smooth playing skills and a nose for the basket, he is definitely one of the best shooters in the NBA. Presently, a Washington Wizards team member, he served with the Boston Celtics for fifteen years, after being selected as the 10th overall pick in the NBA draft of 1998. A prodigious player, Pierce was encouraged to take up sports since an early age. He did not diminish his enthusiasm in sports and soon found basketball to be his genre of interest. Pierce made a mark as a junior player while at high school and college. He went on to earn First Team All-America honors in his junior year at the University of Kansas. A ten-time All-Star and four-time All-NBA team selection, he played outstanding game leading his team Boston Celtics to the 2008 and 2010 NBA Finals, eventually winning the 2008 NBA Finals. In his career with the Celtics, he participated in more than 1000 matches for the team, scoring above 20,000 points. He stands third in team history in games played, second in points scored, seventh in total rebounds, fifth in total assists, and first in total steals with the Celtics.
