Bruce Smith is a former American football player who played as a defensive end for National Football League’s Buffalo Bills and the Washington Redskins. His team Buffalo Bills played four consecutive Super Bowls as AFC champions. A 2-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and a 4-time AFC Defensive Player of the Year, Smith holds the NFL career record for quarterback sacks with 200. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, the talented footballer started off as a novice player at Booker T. Washington High School. Following a successful all-state high school career, he enrolled at Virginia Tech where he was named the most honored player in Hokie history. After ending his college career in 1984, Smith commenced his professional career in 1985 with Buffalo Bills. He played football for several years until his retirement in 2016, earning several titles and honors. On the personal front, Smith is a married man and a father of one.
