Matt Dillon is an American actor and director who made his debut in films at the age of fifteen and became a teen idol. Some of his early films include Over the Edge, Tex, The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, and The Flamingo Kid. His transition from reckless teen roles to more adult characters came with Drugstore Cowboy after which he successfully established himself as a versatile actor. His film credits include comedies There's Something About Mary and You, Me and Dupree as well as the crime drama film Crash and the horror film The House That Jack Built. All these films earned him tremendous appreciation and nominations at award functions. Most notable amongst these is Crash, which earned him nominations at the Academy Awards, Golden Globe awards, and BAFTA. On television, his most notable work is Wayward Pines. As a director, he has directed an episode of a television series OZ, a film City of Ghosts, and a documentary The Great Fellove. Apart from these, Matt Dillon has lent his voice to various projects and has appeared in and directed music videos too.
