Kevin O’Leary is a Canadian businessman, author, and TV personality. He is one of the co-founders of the software company ‘SoftKey.’ Born in Montreal, he was raised by his businesswoman mother and stepfather. Initially aspiring to become a photographer, he later idolized his mother, who was a successful businesswoman. Kevin earned his MBA degree from the ‘University of Western Ontario.’ In 1980, he laid the foundation of ‘Special Event Television,’ which produced sports programs. In 1986, he co-founded a company named ‘SoftKey Software Products,’ along with John Freeman and Gary Babcock. The company manufactured computer software and related products. Throughout the next 2 decades, ‘SoftKey’ acquired almost all its rivals in the North American market and was rebranded as ‘The Learning Company.’ Kevin decided to sell the company to ‘Mattel’ in 1999 and thus became a multi-millionaire. In the mid-2000s, he started appearing on several talk shows and reality shows. In 2017, he decided to enter politics and then fought the elections to attain the leadership of the ‘Conservative Party of Canada.’ However, he withdrew a month before the election, citing lack of support from his birthplace, Quebec.
