Dale Winton was a British DJ, TV and radio presenter, and game show host. He was born into a Jewish family. While Dale’s father died on his “bar mitzvah,” his mother committed suicide when he was 21. Dale began his career as a DJ in Richmond and London clubs. He then joined the United Biscuits Radio Network and subsequently worked with various radio networks, such as Radio Trent, Beacon Radio, Chiltern Radio, and BBC 2. In 1986, he moved to TV with the show Pet Watch. Since then, he appeared on various shows on Lifestyle Channel, Channel 4, and ITV, among others. Throughout his illustrious career, Dale hosted many popular shows such as Dale's Supermarket Sweep, In It to Win It, Hole in the Wall, Dale's Great Getaway, Pets Win Prizes, and The Other Half. In 2002, he came out as gay in his autobiography, My Story. In April 2018, Dale died at the age of 62. He left most of his estate worth millions to BBC executive Mark Linsey. Dale was buried beside his mother, in the Golders Green cemetery, according to his last wish.
