Amber Rudd

Amber Rudd is a British ‘Conservative’ politician who has served as a member of parliament (MP) from Hastings and Rye. She has also held multiple cabinet positions in the central government. Born to a stockbroker in London, Amber grew up in a rich family. She is a direct descendant of King Charles II. She completed her initial education in Essex and Gloucestershire and attended ‘Queen’s College’ in London for higher studies. After working at investment firms for a few years, she joined active electoral politics and became the MP from Hastings and Rye in 2010, as a ‘Conservative Party’ member. As a parliamentarian, she was known for her support for gender equality and her efforts toward making sex education compulsory in schools. After the 2015 victory of the ‘Conservative Party,’ she was appointed as the secretary of state for energy and climate change. She made her place in the ‘Privy Council’ a few days later. In July 2016, she was appointed as the home secretary and became known for her tough stand on immigration. She was not in favor of easing up on the immigration laws in the U.K. She also faced flak from liberals when she supported restriction of internet freedom.
