Jennifer Tilly is an Academy Award-nominated American-Canadian actress and a world-class poker player. Born in Harbor City, Los Angeles, California, Tilly made her acting debut in 1983 with the TV series Oh Madeline, in which she played a small role. She made her film debut in 1984 with No Small Affair, and since then, she has remained active, often appearing in multiple projects per year. She had a strong start to her acting career. Early on, she appeared in popular series such as Hill Street Blues, Cheers, and Frasier. Although she mostly played minor roles, this was still a promising beginning for a newcomer. Her breakthrough came in Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway (1994), which earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards. She later starred in several internationally acclaimed films, including Bound (1996) and Liar Liar (1997). In addition to her on-screen work, Tilly has had a successful career as a voice actress, lending her voice to Bonnie Swanson in Family Guy, as well as roles in Stuart Little and The Simpsons.
