(Politician, President) José Manuel Barroso is a Portuguese university teacher and politician best known for his service as the Prime Minister of Portugal from 6 April 2002 to 17 July 2004. He has also served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Leader of the Opposition, and President of the European Commission. Barroso is the current non-executive chairman of The Goldman Sachs Group.
