Ella Henderson is an upcoming English singer and songwriter who shot to countrywide fame when she made it to the last six as a contender in the ninth series of the British reality television music competition ‘The X Factor’, in 2012. Though she was tipped to win the singing competition, she ended up finishing sixth. Nevertheless, Simon Cowell of ‘Syco Music’ considered Ella to be talented enough to sign her up for a recording deal. Hailing from Lincolnshire, she demonstrated a passion for music quite early in her life, mastering the playing of piano on her own when she was only ten. She participated in ‘The X Factor’ by singing ‘Missed’, a song she had composed herself, which earned her a spot in the competition. She gradually progressed to subsequent stages of the event, becoming the hot favorite to win the show but was ultimately pipped at the post by another contestant James Arthur. Though her unexpected and shock departure from the reality show was believed to be one of the most one-sided upsets in ‘The X Factor’s’ show history, she was successful in striking lucrative recording deals. Her very first record single, ‘Ghost’ became the top charting number on the ‘UK Singles Chart’. She buttressed her grip on the music industry in UK and worldwide with the release of music singles, songs, and albums that went on to become chartbusters.
