(American Preacher and One of the Founders of Methodism in the United States) A pioneer of American Methodism, Philip Embury was initially trained as a carpenter in Ireland, but became a preacher after being converted. He later moved to the U.S. and himself worked as a carpenter on the first Methodist church in the country. He unfortunately died in a mowing accident.
