Larry Page, born Lawrence Page, is an American entrepreneur and computer scientist who, along with Sergey Brin, co-founded Google Inc., the search engine giant that offers a wide range of internet products and services. Google started as a search engine company and gradually expanded its operations to other internet-related areas, including advertising, cloud computing, and hardware. As the son of computer professionals, Page’s fascination with technology began at an early age. He demonstrated a keen interest in business and innovation from his childhood. While studying Computer Science at Stanford University, Page met Brin, and together they created a search engine that ranked pages based on relevance, a concept that laid the foundation for Google’s success. In 1998, Page and Brin officially launched Google. Initially, they served as co-presidents of the company until 2001, when Eric Schmidt was appointed Chairman and CEO. In 2011, Page became the CEO of Google, while Schmidt transitioned to the role of Executive Chairman. Page also served as a member of the company’s Board of Directors. In addition to his work with Google, Page is deeply interested in renewable energy technologies and philanthropy. Google.org, the company’s philanthropic arm, was established in 2004. The organization focuses on issues like climate change, sustainable energy, and global development.
