Beth Tweddle

Description: (Retired British Artistic Gymnast)

This enthusiastic and full-of-energy gymnast was born to gain popularity, not just in Britain but across the world. By entering into gymnastics during childhood, Beth Tweddle took a wise decision and outshone all records held by Britain previously, apart from creating new ones. With three World titles, six European titles and seven consecutive national titles, and a Commonwealth title to boast of, she is known to be the most decorated gymnast Britain has ever had, whether male or female. It was her aggression and determination that enabled her overcome all obstacles and perform daring and dynamic stunts in artistic gymnastics on uneven bars and floor exercise. Her outstanding performance at the 2012 London Olympic Games won a bronze medal, the first medal for Britain by a female gymnast. What’s more, she was the first British female gymnast to claim medals at World Championships and European Championships as well. She announced her retirement in 2013 and tried her hand at various media and social work. She started a gymnastics company with a mission to support and help children take up gymnastics and excel on a bigger level. She has the honor of receiving the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her services towards gymnastics.
