Konishiki Yasokichi is a former sumo wrestler of Samoan descent. Born in Hawaii, he became the first non-Japanese-born wrestler to reach ōzeki, the second-highest rank in the sport. He entered sumo as a teenager and made his debut in the top makuuchi division in 1984. He went on to have a successful career and won the top division championship thrice.
