Daisy Fuentes is a Cuban-born American TV host, who was one of the most well-known faces of MTV during the 1990s. She is also an illustrious model and awards ceremony host. Born in Havana, Cuba, she spent her early childhood in Spain, before moving to New Jersey, US. She began modeling work during her high school days and at 19, took up the job of weather report presenter on a Spanish language TV network. Soon she was hosting ‘MTV’s’ Spanish music program, followed by a number of ‘MTV’ shows, including ‘MTV Rock n’ Jock,’ ‘Beach MTV’ among others. After gaining fame, Fuentes was chosen to represent many prestigious companies, such as Revlon, Pantene, and others. She broke down the barriers as ‘MTV’s’ first Hispanic VJ and Revlon’s first Latina spokesmodel. She became a successful TV host with shows such as ‘House of Style,’ ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos,’ and ‘Dick Clark’s Rocking New Year Eve.’ She has hosted several award ceremonies and presented many beauty pageants. She runs a flourishing clothing line. She is also involved in several charity activities and fund-rising drives.
