Frances Fisher is an English-born American film, TV, and stage actor, best known for her supporting roles in the soap opera ‘The Edge of Night’ and the film ‘Titanic.’ Born and raised in Hampshire, England, she traveled a lot in her childhood due to her father’s job. It was during her high-school years that she caught a penchant for acting after performing in theatrical plays. In order to build her acting career, she moved to New York City and worked in the theater circuit for 14 years, making her TV debut in 1976. Her first stint as a screen actor was for the hugely successful soap opera ‘The Edge of Night.’ She worked in the soap for 5 years. In 1985, she joined the cast of another daytime soap opera, ‘Guiding Light.’ She had her film breakthrough in the late 1980s, with the film ‘Pink Cadillac.’ She appeared in supporting roles in films such as ‘Laws of Attraction,’ ‘Titanic,’ and ‘A Single Woman.’ She has also appeared in a few episodes of TV series such as ‘Eureka,’ ‘Touch,’ and ‘Masters of Sex.’
