Roger Mayweather, also known as Black Mamba, is a successful American boxer turned boxing trainer. He was born into the famous Mayweather boxing family, originally from Michigan, USA. Introduced to boxing as a teenager, he held an amateur record of 64-4. At twenty, he moved to Las Vegas, where he turned pro, winning his debut match in the same year. By twenty-two, he had improved his record to 14-0, winning World Boxing Association World Super Feather Title in the same year. In his long career, spanning from 1981 to 1999, he had taken part in 72 fights, winning 59 bouts and losing 13. A two-weight world champion, he held the WBA and lineal super featherweight titles in 1983 and 1984, and the WBC light welterweight title in 1987, 1988 and 1989. Furthermore, he held the IBO light welterweight title in 1994 and the IBO welterweight title in 1994 and 1995. Also known as a successful trainer, he has trained several boxing aspirants, including his nephew Floyd Mayweather Jr.
