(Librarian) Ada Adler was one of the most influential female philologists ever. Initially a student of Greek religion, she studied subjects such as the myth of Pandora. She is perhaps best known for her critical edition of the Byzantine encyclopaedia Suda. During World War II, she made efforts to assist German Jewish academics.
