Erik Spoelstra

Description: (American Former Basketball Player and Head Coach of the NBA Team 'Miami Heat')

Erik Spoelstra is an American professional basketball coach who currently serves the 'Miami Heat' of the 'National Basketball Association' (NBA) as their head coach. He is the first ‘NBA’ head coach of Asian-American ethnicity. Erik worked as a video coordinator for 'Miami Heat' before he was promoted to the post of head coach. However, after he recorded his first win as the assistant coach, his position was questioned. Fortunately, he got through it and even had the support of the team's former coach. As the head coach, Erik led his team to four consecutive finals, in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, with consecutive wins in 2012 and 2013. This made Erik the first Asian–American to win an ‘NBA’ championship. He is actively associated with the ‘US Department of State's 'SportsUnited Sports Envoy' program.
