Daniel Mays is an English actor who has appeared in several films and television shows. Born to a bank cashier mother and an electrician father, he grew up in Buckhurst Hill, Essex. Even though his parents did not have a background in the show business, Daniel developed an intense interest in acting as a small child. Influenced by the works of legendary actor Robert De Niro, he studied at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts before training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). Following his graduation from RADA, Mays landed supporting roles in television shows. Soon, he teamed up with director Michael Bay for his film debut ‘Pearl Harbor’. In addition to his television and big screen outings, the talented actor has worked extensively in theatre as well. Besides his work in the British entertainment industry, he has also appeared in international projects. He is married to makeup artist Louise Burton. He loves sports and is a keen supporter of the football club Leyton Orient. He is an ardent follower of the British rock band Feeder.
