Richard Osman is a British TV host, scriptwriter, comedian, producer, director, and novelist. He is best known for his stint as a host on the quiz show Pointless, along with his friend Alexander Armstrong. He started his career as a scriptwriter, for shows such as Deal or No Deal and 10 O'Clock Live. He eventually wrote for shows such as Total Wipeout and Bromwell High. While pitching the show Pointless to BBC executives, Richard was advised to take up the role of a co-presenter on the show. He thus started co-hosting the show with Alexander Armstrong in 2009. In 2017, he began hosting his own show, Richard Osman's House of Games. Over the years, he has been part of many shows (both as a host and as a contestant), such as Have I Got News for You, Would I Lie to You?, Two Tribes, Taskmaster, and Prize Island. He has written several books, including a crime novel named The Thursday Murder Club. Richard has been married and divorced once, and has two children. He has also been in the news for his relationships with radio host/editor Emily Dean and musician Sumudu Jayatilaka.
