Sung Hoon is a South Korean actor most popular for different versatile and leading roles he portrayed in various television series. An ace swimmer, specialising in butterfly stroke, Hoon remained a national swim team member for fourteen years and was in nowhere near to the world of acting or modelling. However destiny seemed to have other plans for him. He had to quit the national swim team due to a spinal injury which also posed a problem later when he enlisted into military service. A novice in the field of glamour and entertainment Hoon then landed up essaying lead role in the 2011 South Korean TV series ‘New Tales of Gisaeng’, marking his debut as an actor. It proved a breakthrough role for him that not only earned him accolades, recognition and the New Star Award from 20th SBS Drama Awards but also paved his way for other prominent roles. Some of his other notable series includes ‘Passionate Love’, ‘Noble, My Love’, ‘Five Enough’ and ‘My Secret Romance’. His only big screen appearance so far was as Tae-Sung in the 2016 flick ‘Come Back to Busan Port’. He is also a gifted musical Disc jockey and has performed under stage name ROI in different countries.
