Anthony Anderson

Description: (Best Known for His Role in the Sitcom 'Black-Ish' and Series 'K-Ville' and 'Law & Order')

Anthony Anderson is an American actor who jumped to fame with his own sitcom, ‘All About the Andersons’. Born and raised in Compton, life for Anderson was complex, given the predominantly existing gang violence, drive-by shootings, and drug dealings in Compton. However, his drive and determination to follow in his mother’s footsteps (who played movie extras) saw him through all that and much more. Enthusiastic and energetic, he ventured into the world of glitz and glamor early in his life; his first stint in front of the camera being for television commercials. Anderson soon found himself roped in to play various characters both for the big and small screen. Though he became famous soon after his debut in 1999, it was in 2003 that he became a household name with his sitcom, ‘All About the Andersons’. Over the years, he has acted in several prominent television series and movies. Interestingly, despite comedy being his forte, Anderson has fared exceptionally well in serious dramas, his role of Detective Kevin Bernard in Law & Order is the best example. Anderson played the character of Andre ‘Dre’ Johnson, Sr in the ‘Black-ish’ television series.
