Indra Nooyi is an Indian-born American business executive who served as the Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PepsiCo, one of the largest food and beverage companies in the world. Nooyi is one of the top female executives in the United States and has consistently been ranked among the World's 100 Most Powerful Women. She was instrumental in the diversification and expansion of PepsiCo’s brands, which were previously more focused on soft drinks. Known for being highly innovative, energetic, and hardworking, Nooyi rose to become one of the top female executives in the world from modest beginnings. Born into a middle-class family in Chennai, she has always been someone who challenged the conservative norms of society. A brilliant student, she earned her MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta and initially worked with Johnson & Johnson. She then proceeded to the Yale School of Management to further her education. Following her studies, she worked with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Motorola, and Asea Brown Boveri. Nooyi gained prominence as a strategist and received job offers from several prestigious companies, including General Electric and PepsiCo. She joined PepsiCo in 1994, and quickly rose through the ranks to become its CEO in 2006.
