Rula Lenska is an English-Polish actress, best known for appearing on the UK version of the reality TV show ‘Celebrity Big Brother’. She was born in Huntingdonshire, England, into a Polish noble family. Her father served in the Polish government for many years before and during the Second World War. Her mother was a Polish countess who fled the country during the Nazi occupation. When Rula expressed her desire to work in the film industry, her parents strongly disapproved of it, as they wanted her to go to the US for further studies. But she had made up her mind about becoming an actress. She started her acting career in the early 1970s with a small role in the series ‘The Doctors’. She went on to appear in many minor television roles before getting her breakthrough in the 1976 mini-series ‘Rock Follies’. Despite her hard-work and obvious talent, Rula’s acting career continued to remain stagnant. She has appeared in supporting roles in series, such as ‘Take a Letter Mr. Jones’, ‘Kappatoo’, ‘Cluedo’ and ‘Coronation Street’. She eventually gained national fame with her stint on the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2006.
