Lee Joon-gi is a South Korean actor, model and a singer who became popular after playing a royal clown in the film ‘The King and the Clown’ in 2005, which also happened to be his debut as a leading man. The film became one of the highest grossing Korean films that year and with that, Lee’s career picked up pace. He was born and brought up in Busan and later moved to Seoul in order to make a career in show business and started with modelling. For his acting debut, he appeared in the TV series ‘Nonstop 4’ in 2003 and he has also been a part of some of the most influential Korean dramas of the previous decade such as ‘Hero’, ‘My Girls’ and ‘Moon Lovers’. With change in entertainment modes and the advent of digital platforms, he also became a part of web series named ‘First Seven Kisses’ in 2016, a step which was appreciated by many. For the period drama ‘Gunman in Joseon’, he received the Outstanding Korean Actor Honour at the Seoul International Drama awards. He has received many other awards over the course of his career.
