Kevin McNally is an English actor, who is most recognized for his role as Joshamee Gibbs in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film franchise. The Bristol-born actor started performing on stage during his high school years in Birmingham. In the early 1970s, he trained in acting at the ‘Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts’, London before making his acting debut in 1976 with a small role in the British television series ‘I, Claudius’. The first major breakthrough came in his career when he was cast in a regular role in the TV series ‘Poldark’. As for his film career, he made his big screen debut in the James Bond film ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ in 1977. It was followed by films like ‘Enigma’ (1982), ‘The Berlin Affair’ (1984), ‘Cry Freedom’ (1987) and ‘Stalin’ (1992). In 2003, he was roped in to play one of Captain Jack Sparrow’s most loyal men in the fantasy-action film ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl’. Since then, he has portrayed Joshamee Gibbs in all the subsequent films from the franchise. More recently, he played supporting roles in films like ‘The Man Who Knew Infinity’ and ‘Legend’.
