Lhote is best remebered for his contribution as a teacher; he taught at several prestigious institutions like the Académie Notre-Dame des Champs and Académie de la Grande Chaumière. He is credited with mentoring many future artists like Kuno Veeber, Simon Elwes, and Erich Carl Hugo Adamson.
