Nastassja Kinski is a German actress and former model, who has performed in several European and American films. Kinski was born to actor parents. She had a difficult childhood, as she and her mother were abandoned by her father. She took to modelling in order to support her mother. At the age of 12, she was cast in The Wrong Move.’ Later, she starred in the horror movie ‘To the Devil a Daughter.’ She appeared in the lead role in the Italian erotic film ‘Stay as You Are,’ which had a theatrical release in the United States, too. This helped Kinski to get noticed in the United States. Later, she met director Roman Polanski, who offered her the lead role in his film ‘Tess.’ For this film, Kinski won a ‘Golden Globe’ in ‘the ‘New Star of the Year - Female’ category. She was also nominated in the ‘Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama’ category. Nastassja Kinski has featured as the lead actress in movies such as ‘Cat People,’ ‘Maria’s Lovers,’ and ‘Moon in the Gutter.’
