Mary Rosa Alleyne Hunnings, who is known professionally as Mary Berry, is a well-known food writer and TV presenter. She is popular for her appearances in the shows ‘Woman’s Hour’ and ‘Saturday Kitchen’. She has also published more than six dozen cookery books. Born in Somerset, England, she developed an interest in cooking at a very early age. At school, her domestic science class teacher recognized her cooking abilities and encouraged her to pursue a culinary career. Motivated, she proceeded to attend the Bath College of Domestic Science. She published her first cookbook, ‘The Hamlyn All Color Cookbook,’ in 1970. Years later, she launched her own product range along with her daughter Annabelle. She became popular as a TV personality after serving as one of the judges in ‘The Great British Bake Off’. She has also appeared in ‘The Greatest British Food Revival.’ Eventually, she also started her own solo show ‘Mary Berry Cooks,’ which started airing in March 2014.
