Ricardo Valdez Valentine, better known by his stage name, “6lack,” is a ‘Grammy’-nominated American rapper. He is best known for his breakthrough single, ‘Prblms,’ and studio albums ‘Free 6lack’ and ‘East Atlanta Love Letter.’ He entered the rap scene as a battle rapper while he was still in middle school. He initially signed with Flo Rida's ‘International Music Group /Strongarm’ and left ‘Valdosta State University’ to focus on music. For the next 5 years, he showcased his talent in music through his ‘SoundCloud’ account. Eventually, he felt that the label he signed with restricted his creativity. He thus quit the label. He featured in four tracks of the EP ‘Bears Like This Too’ by ‘Spillage Village’ after joining the musical collective as a member. He later signed with ‘LoveRenaissance’ and ‘Interscope Records’ and released his breakthrough single, ‘Prblms,’ which earned him initial recognition. This also marked his first “platinum” record. The song was part of Ricardo’s debut studio album, ‘Free 6lack.’ He later continued to earn fame with other releases such as his second studio album, ‘East Atlanta Love Letter,’ and the single ‘OTW,’ a collaborative effort with Khalid and Ty Dolla Sign.
