Lance Reddick was an American actor actor who garnered fame for portraying Cedric Daniels in the series ‘The Wire’, Phillip Broyles in the series ‘Fringe’, Detective Johnny Basil in ‘Oz’ and Matthew Abaddon in ‘Lost’. He also lent his voice to videogame characters like Martin Hatch in ‘Quantum Break’, Sylens in ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’, and Commander Zavala in the Destiny franchise. A Maryland native, Reddick was a music student at the Peabody Preparatory Institute. He also studied music theory and composition at a summer program at the Walden School. He enrolled at the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester before attending the Yale School of Drama. In 1996, he made his screen debut in an episode of ‘New York Undercover’. While Reddick was predominantly known for his television work, he also delivered memorable performances in a number of films over the course of his career. His cinematic debut came about in the 1998 adaptation of ‘Great Expectations’. His other important films include ‘The Siege’, ‘I Dreamed of Africa’, ‘Won’t Back Down’, and 'John Wick' franchise.
